Transform Supply Chains. Transform Careers.
In a fast-shifting world, organizations don’t just need operators — they need transformers. Whether you're an external consultant or an internal change leader, the Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain (CTSC) by ASCM is your credential of the future.
What is the CTSC?
🔹 ASCM is the global #1 in supply chain education — with CPIM and CSCP already recognized worldwide.
🔹 CTSC takes it further — equipping you to lead transformation, redesign supply chains, and drive performance end-to-end.
🔹 SCOR DS is your foundation — the definitive framework for process design and performance-driven supply chains.
CTSC is more than a certification. It’s your license to architect the future.
For those who transform from within — or lead from the outside.

The APICS CTSC program in brief:
1️⃣ Connects core supply chain planning (CPIM) and end-to-end engineering (CSCP) to the SCOR-DS model to complete the structure definition.
2️⃣ Centers on project management as a lever for organizational transformation.
3️⃣ Delivered in a Boot Camp format, featuring collaborative workshops and afterwork sessions.
4️⃣ Explores the DDMRP methodology, its techniques, and its paradigm shift.

What is DDMRP ?
DDMRP (Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning) represents a true paradigm shift—from forecast-driven planning to a responsive, flow-focused approach. It introduces a fundamentally different replenishment model, driven by actual demand signals and strategic inventory positioning, ensuring that the right materials are available precisely when and where they’re needed
DDMRP is not a rejection of MRP II, but its evolution.
Rather than rejecting these approaches, DDMRP enhances them by introducing flow-based planning, adaptive buffers, and increased responsivenes
Similarly, forecasts are not discarded—they remain essential at the strategic level. The true evolution lies in how they are used: within a more systemic and adaptive S&OP process, where forecast insights support scenario planning and long-term alignment, while execution relies on real demand signals. It’s not about choosing sides—it’s about integrating the best of each framework to build a resilient, demand-driven supply chain.

Our CTSC trainer, Nicolas Vareillas, was among the very first professionals in France and Europe to earn the Demand Driven Planner (DDP) certification—back in 2013!
Shortly after, in 2014, he became one of the first two trainers in France to be officially accredited, alongside Paul Cordié.
Nicolas has since delivered numerous official trainings, contributing to the spread of the methodology within several renowned consulting firms.
It was especially interesting to reconnect this approach with what Festo —Nicolas’s former employer for 17 years— had already implemented as early as 2004–2005, under the guidance of the Goldratt Implementation Group—a genuine Demand Driven system, complete with buffers. The person who led that initiative eventually became Chairman of the Board a few years later!

I In recent years, Nicolas has focused his efforts on the ASCM value proposition, becoming one of the very few Master Instructors in Europe, and the only one in France, accredited to deliver Instructor Training Programs—the official pathway into ASCM’s Instructor Development Program (IDP).
Today, Nicolas is an active member of the ASCM IDP Task Force that revised the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) program and is currently contributing to the development of the Learning Dynamics for Instructors (LDI) course.
In 2022, Nicolas had the opportunity to contribute as a member of the SCOR DS Update Task Force.

What is SCOR-DS?
SCOR-DS stands for Supply Chain Operations Reference – Digital Standard.
It is the digital extension and version 14 of the traditional SCOR model, integrating modern technologies and capabilities.
The framework standardizes supply chain processes, metrics, and best practices to enable benchmarking and transformation.
SCOR-DS serves as a strategic guide to help organizations optimize, align, and digitize their supply chain operations.

What is the Viabilty System Model?
The Viable System Model (VSM), originally developed by Stafford Beer—a visionary in management cybernetics—is a powerful framework for understanding how organizations sustain themselves in dynamic environments.
Though still little known in the supply chain field, the VSM is rooted in decades of thought leadership. It introduces key concepts such as feedback loops, homeostasis, and systemic balance, providing a unique lens to align strategy, operations, and governance.
The model also embodies Ashby’s Law of Requisite Variety, emphasizing that a system’s internal complexity must match the complexity of its environment to remain viable.
At Akorium, we have adopted and presented this model in a renewed form to support deeper, more adaptive, and truly resilient transformations.
